Training on Digital Solutions and Psychosocial Support Strengthens the Resilience of the Education System in Zambézia

With the aim of strengthening the resilience of the education system in the face of natural disasters and emergency situations, a training programme is being conducted from 25 May to 4 June in the districts of Namacurra, Mocuba and Nicoadala. The training targets Pedagogical Influence Zone (ZIP) Coordinators, Teacher Training Institute (EPF/IFP) Trainers, and In-Service Teachers identified as Psychosocial Assistants.

As part of efforts to strengthen schools’ capacity to prevent and respond to natural disaster risks, the project “Strengthening the Resilience and Well-being of Teachers in Areas at Risk of Natural Disasters,” funded by the European Union through Expertise France and implemented by ADPP Mozambique, delivered 60 emergency kits to an equal number of School Disaster Risk Management Committees (SDRMCs) operating in the districts of Namacurra, Nicoadala, and Mocuba in Zambézia Province.

ADPP began, on February 17, the distribution of five tonnes of second-hand clothing to victims of the floods affecting the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, and Inhambane.

As a gesture of solidarity with the victims of the floods affecting the country, particularly the southern region, ADPP today delivered 1,429 family clothing kits, equivalent to 5 tons of second-hand clothing.
