Wholesale Manager – ADPP Mozambique's Second Hand Clothing and Footwear Sales Project, referred to as ADPP Second Hand & ADPP Vestuário
ADPP Mozambique is seeking a Wholesale Manager with proven experience in sales leadership and wholesale business operations to lead its nationwide second-hand clothing and footwear wholesale project.
ADPP Mozambique is seeking a qualified, committed, and professional with practical experience in sales, wholesale operations, supply chain, logistics, and warehouse management for the position of Wholesale Manager. The position is based in Beira and is responsible for the wholesale operation and sales outlets across Mozambique.
ADPP is a Mozambican non-governmental organization established in 1982. The organization works in the areas of quality education, health and well-being, sustainable agriculture and environment, and humanitarian action. At the heart of ADPP's mission is promoting the social and economic development of vulnerable communities, with particular attention to children, youth, women, and girls. As part of its fundraising effort, ADPP operates “ADPP Second Hand”that generates revenue to support the organization's social and humanitarian programs. These include a strong focus on education, such as teacher training, youth skills development, and other essential initiatives that contribute to support its social and humanitarian initiatives, with a strong focus on education, including teacher training, skill development for youth and other essential programs that contribute to sustainable and inclusive growth in Mozambique
We are looking for a hands-on and results-oriented professional with a strong senior sales and leadership background gained in a commercial structure operating multiple sales branches. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead, organize, motivate, and manage staff and operations to consistently achieve daily and weekly sales budgets and performance targets.
ADPP Second Hand currently operates 13 wholesale outlets across the country. Managing this requires a commercially driven leader with practical experience in sales management, operational oversight, and team leadership to ensure the project achieves its commercial objectives while supporting ADPP's fundraising mission.
Requirements for the position:
- Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in a senior sales leadership role within a wholesale business or other commercial management, including responsibility for budget implementation and the management of multiple sales outlets.
- Experience in opening and establishing new sales outlets is an advantage.
- Experience working with a national or regional retail or wholesale chain is preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully managing commercial operations - achieving sales and business targets. Include demonstrating ability and commitment to build, coach and develop the capacity of the sales teams.
- Higher (tertiary) qualification in Business Management, in Commerce, or a related field, - or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Good knowledge of fashion trends and textile, clothing, and footwear products.
- High level of self-motivation, precision and commitment to results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound understanding of the legal and commercial framework for conducting commercial activities and international trade.
- Fluency in spoken and written Portuguese and English.
- Good IT skills
- Honesty and non-corrupt practice - and accountability in all business and staff interactions.
- A service-minded leadership style that actively promotes that each staff member improve and succeed - combined through continued control and support.
- Proven ability to build, motivate, and lead high-performing teams.

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and control the project's sales budget, and, organize, and lead the sales activities of all wholesale outlets.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the sales teams work in the wholesale outlets across Mozambique through the Regional Outlet Managers as well as through each of the Outlet Managers.
- Ensure that ADPPs concept and standards for the wholesale outlets are followed – from operational performance, control of prices, sales methods and reaching targets, coordination and cross control with the Sorting Centre. Also including branding, outlet appearance and customer care.
- Control goods inventory process and identify shortages.
- Control cash handling and payment systems and maintain cash flow safety (banking and theft prevention)
- Coordinate the wholesales marketing and promotion activities in alignment with ADPP guidelines.
