ADPP - 35 years creating development
ADPP Mozambique celebrated 35 years of its creation on November 8th, in a ceremony attended by the former President of the Republic, Armando Emílio Guebuza, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Jorge Nhambiu, the Administrator of the Matola district, Julio Parruque, Diplomats, partners and friends.
In the event, the guests had the opportunity to visit an exhibition of the projects implemented by ADPP in Education, Health and Agriculture throughout the 35 years of its existence.
In his speech, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education Jorge Nhambiu challenged ADPP Mozambique to continuously invest in quality education for all and to promote lifelong learning so that people and communities are the main and proactive agents of their own development.
In turn, Jorgete de Jesus, Provincial Director of Education and Human Development in Maputo highlighted ADPP's efforts to support the Government in its most sensitive social areas, such as Education, Health, Agriculture and Sustainable Development.
At the same time, the Executive Director of ADPP, Birgit Holm, recalled the challenges the organization had in its implementation in the country from supporting the fishing sector, adult literacy to the current stage where it implements more than 60 projects in the areas of Health , Environment, Education and Sustainable Agriculture.
ADPPs 35th anniversary also featured an art exhibition by the artist, Tsenane, who was a beneficiary of one of ADPP's projects, the Children's Town.
The celebrations highest counted with the performance from the Timbila Muzimba band, Xigubo de Matuituíne and the ADPP Teacher Training School coral group.
