Polytechnic College Nacala
The Vocational School of Nacala offers medium level vocational training (8th to 10th grade) in line with the Mozambican education system. It reaches out to young Mozambicans aged 15-25 years who wish to acquire a technical academic and vocational training.
The Vocational School of Nacala is among the three ADPP Vocational Schools that offer a technical-vocational diploma through an intensive 2-year training program that includes both theoretical and practical studies. Internships at local companies and institutions are an integral part of the curriculum.
Since the training is given in a boarding school setting, the graduates acquire many valuable extra-curricular skills, including planning and implementing activities and assuming personal responsibility over the management of the School.
The Vocational School of Nacala provides technical training in Agriculture, Civil Construction and Hospitality & Tourism.
The objective of the training is to ensure skilled labor force and possible future managers for a wide range of local businesses, thereby contributing to local, regional and national economic and social development.
The Vocational School of Nacala is located in Nacala Porto. It was inaugurated in 1994 and has since then graduated altogether 1,115 students.
In 2013 was started short-term training under the CCDC (Community Center for Development of Competencies) which operates on the premises of the Polytechnic College of Nhamatanda. By October 2014, the CCDC in Nacala have graduated 152 participants specialized in Agriculture, 80 in Animal Husbandry, 80 in Electricity, 65 in Computer Users, 69 in Construction, 49 as Masons, 142 in Plumbing, 61 Housekeepers, 15 Maids and 24 Kitchen Helpers, summing up 737 graduates.
